PANNAL MONOPOLY

PANNAL'S ONLY MONOPOLY THEMED EVENT FOR SCOUTS & GUIDES!

The challenge is simple - how many "properties" around the Tour de Pannal course can you visit within a time limit? You collect money for each property you visit, and each property has a different value depending on how difficult it is to get to. The winner is the team that collects the most points!

To play, (and maybe win a prize!) we're asking that you donate £5 to the RNLI after they did such a great job helping loads of groups with virtual Scouting (and they're still doing it too!). When you donate through *our justgiving page* you'll receive a password to unlock this goosechase game.

WHO CAN TAKE PART?

The Pannal Monopoly Challenge is open to any Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer in the Harrogate and Nidderdale District (HANDS) as well as our friends in Guiding in the area.

HOW LONG IS THE CHALLENGE OPEN FOR?

The Pannal Monopoly Challenge opens on Friday May 28 and closes on Sunday June 6

HOW DOES IT WORK?

We are using the GooseChase app - you may have used it on the TDP Easter Challenge.

1. Before you set off, make sure you have downloaded the GooseChase Android or iPhone app

2. Select "Play as Guest"

3. Enter the code for the Pannal Monopoly challenge which is 6DV9E1. (Grab your password for the game by donating to the RNLI - info above!)

4. Plan your route! You only have a fixed time to grab as many properties as you can, so decide how you are going to do it.

5. The clock starts once you have checked-in at the Scout Hut, and stops once you have checked back in at the Scout Hut at the end.

The winner will be the team that manages to work out how to get as many points as possible within the time limit - not necessarily the fastest runners.

You might also want to download the what3words app to be able to find the properties, but you can mark them on a map before you go if you prefer.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE?

Beavers and Rainbows - 2 hours
Cubs and Brownies - 90 minutes
Scouts and Explorers, Guides and Rangers) - 1 hour

WHAT DO I DO WHEN I FINISH?

First, make sure that you have checked back in at the Scout Hut within your allocated time for your section and see how well you did - we will be checking! Count up your cash and let us know on tourdepannal@1stpannalscouts.org.uk. You can have as many goes as you like if you think you can do better!
